Ann Street Reconstruction
In 2014, Grand Rapids voters established the Vital Streets fund. This fund dedicates its focus to improving our street conditions. This focus is fueled by our community values: Safety, Healthy Places, Vibrant Economy, Environmental Sustainability, and Diverse Transportation Options. The Ann Street project is funded by Vital Streets. Construction will begin June 20 and is expected to last until August.
Ann Street (Monroe to Plainfield)
Construction is expected to start Friday, June 20.
This is a reconstruction project. Contractors will replace the road and upgrade what is listed below:
Access and parking
Driveway approaches and sidewalks
Water
Parkways and street trees
Storm sewer
Trash, recycling, and mail
Construction tips for businesses
Construction hours
Grass and lawn care

Timeline
August 2025: Construction ends
Construction will end by August (hopefully!) The street will open to vehicle traffic. As always, weather may impact our timeline. If the date changes, we will update it here.
June 20, 2025: Construction Begins
The detour uses Knapp, Monroe, and Sweet.
June 4, 2025: Construction Preparation Meeting
At this meeting we will share the work to be completed, project schedule, and access during construction.
