Briar/Little Hope Creek Greenway
Briar/Little Hope Creek Greenway
The Briar/Little Hope Creek greenway project constructed 1.5 miles of greenway trail in south Charlotte. Construction is complete. The contractor is finishing a few small items, but the trail is open for use.
Repairs to a small section of Briar Creek between Little Sugar Creek and the bridge will occur in late summer/early fall 2025. We will provide more information as the date approaches on the closure date and duration.
Briar Creek Greenway will have a detour starting Monday, July 28 2025 for the reconstruction of a small portion of the trail between Little Sugar Creek Greenway and the bridge over Briar Creek. The detour is adjacent to the construction area, so please follow the signs and warnings. The recontruction of the trail should be complete by early fall 2025. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services is beginning a project that will enhance and stabilize approximately 700 linear feet of Briar Creek located at Lila Wood Circle to Moncure Drive. This work will improve water quality by stabilizing the stream banks which will reduce the sediment loading and improve aquatic habitat by installing rock structures. This project is upstream of the greenway trail project, approximate location shown below.
